We love books, we love technology, and we believe reading should fit into your life, whether you're looking at the page, listening with your phone in your pocket, or switching between the two.
With Cadence, you can read eBooks on screen or have them read aloud to you. You can also play audiobooks and other audio files.
Our own experience shapes the details we care about. It should be easy to find your place, choose a voice you enjoy, set the speed, and keep listening without thinking about the app. Accessibility matters deeply to us, but we want Cadence to feel excellent for every reader.
Our goal is ambitious: to build the best reading and listening app in the world for DRM-free books and audio. DRM is copy protection that many stores add to the books they sell. It often means you can only open a book in that store's own app. Cadence is for books and audio files that don't have this lock. We're building it for blind readers, for anyone who finds print hard to read, and for everyone who loves a good book read aloud. We're getting there one thoughtful improvement at a time, guided by the people who use it.
